1868 Magnolia House Inn
Magnolia House Inn was built as his private residence in 1868 by William Pole, the builder of the beautiful Lee Chapel on the Washington and Lee University campus. An example of the Shenandoah Victorian style, the house boasts high ceilings, tall windows, many fireplaces, and several porches. Guests may enjoy the parlor, the dining room, the Hospitality Room—stocked with cold drinks and snacks, including Jan's homemade cookies—and the front porches on both levels overlooking the garden. Enhanced with antiques and traditional furnishings, the inn reflects the gracious warmth of Victorian elegance, combined with the casual comforts of today.
Located on Main Street in Lexington's Historic District, Magnolia House Inn is a short walk from the quaint downtown restaurants and shops, the Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson Memorials, the campuses of both Washington and Lee University and Virginia Military Institute, and the Lexington Visitors Center. Nearby are the Virginia Horse Center, Natural Bridge, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
A full breakfast is served each morning in the lovely dining room. (Come as you are: the formal presentation is all for fun...you don't have to worry about your best company manners!) Early risers will find a fresh pot of coffee in the dining room—and a mug to take into the parlor, out on a porch, or back to your room.
For cancellation 7 or more days in advance (except for college events and special reservations) – no penalty; cancellation less than 7 days prior to stay requires one half amount due.
