South Court Inn Bed and Breakfast
We want you to know that while our Inn is "fancy" we want guests to get down to feeling comfortable real quick. We mean it when we say "Make yourselves at home!"
We'll modify every one of our special packages to make it just what you want and offer it as a gift certificate for you to give someone else as well.
We enjoy cooking, so don't worry about special diets. We gladly provide vegan, vegetarian, kosher, halal, and other special breakfasts if you let us know in advance.
We planned and gathered things to share with our guest for 20 years before we opened South Court Inn. We wanted a place that would be so beautiful folks couldn't resist it, but we also wanted them to fall in love with it because they felt so much at home. Guests tell us we've succeeded.
So, we now invite you to join us! Relax anywhere in the house or garden with a book from the 2nd floor reading nook. Rock on the porch or lounge in the sun room. Play horseshoes, boccie or croquet...or do nothing at all. Come prepared to relax and plan on having a good time while you are here.
All four of our rooms have king-or-queen sized canopy beds, private baths and fireplaces, but each draws guests with different expectations. Three rooms have whirlpool tubs.
We steer newlyweds and anniversary couples toward the Margaret Bland and Emma Glenn rooms because both feature 2-person whirlpool tubs. Newlyweds seem to like the opulence of Margaret Bland. Margaret is our largest room and offers a 35-inch TV with DVD and VHS players as well. Decorated in shades of teal, green and opulent gold-creweled burgundy, a recliner, easy chair and the magnificent king-sized bed with elaborate canopy, makes this is a room to celebrate marriage -- yesterday or 25 years ago.
Emma Glenn, on the other hand, is a snuggling room -- warm cranberry and gold, fireplace, crystal chandelier, Turkish carpet and an 1820 mahogany canopy bed with full drapery and a feather mattress over a soft foam one. Lie down and you sink into yesterday! Change to appropriate dress and make the 6-foot whirlpool tub for 2 another experience for your own velvety chocolate getaway!
The Mary Kennard room celebrates turn-of-the-century America. The white wicker and the blue and white toile decor reflect Grandma Mary's times and favorite colors. The fireplace and private shower bath make this a favorite choice for the "practical" guest who wants a shower, a king mattress, and lots of sunshine...as well as a private retreat.
We try to make breakfast as memorable as the decor and furnishing here at the Inn. We change china 5 times throughout the year and we add a variety of different silver pieces each morning just for the fun of it.
We serve a multi-course breakfast with the menu changing daily, including our own breads, jams, jellies and fruit butters. We combine fine and traditional foods and serve them with elegance and just a touch of silver humor in a great dining room.
And, whether for breakfast or an afternoon break, select from more than 20 teas and 5 coffees when you're looking for a hot drink.

the south court inn was very nice it was clean and the Potts were very friendly and very knowledgable about the area and things to do . tom is a great cook the presentation of the breakfast was very elegant and exetremely good. i would highly recommend trhe south court inn - Joe Loves Breakfast - 10/03/2011
This is the best B&B that I've ever stayed at. Especially the creativity and hard work placed in the preparation, presentation, and delivery of the breakfasts. I loved the Banana Foster topping for the french toast! There are many very good B&Bs out there...the South Court Inn holds the edge because of their fantastic and dynamic breakfasts. My husband and I recently visited South Court Inn while doing some hiking in the area. We loved our time there. The house was beautiful with great attention to detail. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable after a long day of hiking. Tom, the innkeeper, makes an amazing breakfast and loves to share the background of the dishes as well as talking about history of the house and the area over coffee. WOW!!! Simply beautiful.. We decided to marry here honestly after seeing all the pictures posted online and the many wonderful reviews. Tom made us feel very welcomed and was there if we needed him. We married the same day we arrived and I was so nervous, I remember telling Tom as we arrived I was nervous I was going to screw the vows up, he reassured me he hasn't lost anyone and he doesn't plan on it. We had an amazing ceremony, thanks so much to Tom & Anita! Tom made us wonderful french toast in the am, we loved it!! We definately plan to return for our 1 year anniversary but this time we are staying longer. This was a perfect getaway- can't say how much I loved it! After reading all the reviews that South Court has received the only thing I am bothered by are the few reviews that were poor. They refer to Tom demanding payment as you entered, I can say as we entered we were welcomed and eventualy we paid- honestly every hotel we have been in when walking in the door you pay, so that was normal. Another thing people say they talk and talk re: what they did to the place and the renovations. Yes they did but in a tasteful way, we were interested in learning what we could. They not once overwelmed us or bothered us. Maybe because we are people that actually have respect for others and their property that we had no issus at all. Tom and Anita are very accomodating and very friendly. The only thing I am disappointed in is that we didn't stay longer and couldn'r because the cottage was already rented for the day we were leaving but next year, we will be there longer for sure, no doubt!! Tom and Anita Potts are truly the go to people for a romantic, stress-free elopement. South Court Inn exceeded all my expectations. The house is absolutely breathtaking and there is just no way to take it all in and the pictures just don't do it justice. The entire house is a labor of love and it reflects into the grounds as well. I would recommend anyone to stay at South Court Inn, my new husband and I will be returning again and again! We recognize unforeseeable events sometimes arise that require our guests to reschedule or cancel reservations. We do everything we can to accommodate those requests; without imposing unacceptable financial strains on our business. Therefore we observe the following policies on rescheduling and canceling reservations:
A. Requests to reschedule or cancel reservations at least 14 days before scheduled arrival date are accepted without penalty.
B. Rescheduling and cancellations with less than 14 days advance notice are charged the agreed rate and a gift certificate is issued for later use.
C. Cancellations the same day as the reservations and "no shows" are charged the full rate and no gift certificates issued.
D. Cancellation with less than 14 days notice must be made by email and by telephone; toll free number is 888-749-8055.
