The Quarters

This truly unique home was built around 1830 and is furnished with fine arts and antiques.  The home is walking distance to the University of Virginia, restaurants and shops.  The upstairs suite has a private entrance, a sitting room with a wood burning fireplace and a sleeper sofa.  The Queen bedroom has its own fireplace and there is a Single bedroom off of the sitting room.  The bathroom has a footed Victorian tub.  Enjoy exploring the owner’s area as you are served a full breakfast in the dining room downstairs…oversized doors, wood plank flooring, fireplaces, large beams and more.  
The Quarters has unusual gardens which have been featured during Historic Garden Week in Virginia Tours (1976, 1990, and 1999).
Innkeeper Mary Hill Caperton has lived in Charlottesville for many years and is knowledgeable about the area. She is active in historic preservation, and has many civic interests including city government, animal welfare, and the arts. She has one resident dog who delights in guests.
Accommodations are for a family of two to five.
The Quarters is an excellent location for those visiting the University of Virginia or Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and our Historic Downtown pedestrian mall . Other local attractions include antique shopping, historical sites, performing theaters, museums, John Paul Jones Arena, nature areas, rivers, ski area, vineyards & wineries, art galleries, concert venues, National/State parks and gourmet dining.
