Trinkle Mansion

Southern hospitality means always offering a little bit more than what you expect -- and that's exactly  what you'll experience here at the Trinkle Mansion.

The majestic columns and front porch rocking chairs greet all who visit this lovely bed and breakfast.  Listed on the National Historic Register, this stately home offers four guest rooms plus a private garden cottage to provide the perfect setting for a small wedding, romantic celebration or a tranquil retreat from everyday life.  All rooms have private baths and queen sized beds with comfy pillow-top mattresses and turndown of fine linens.

Built in 1912 by William Trinkle, a gentleman farmer with 20,000 acres under his supervision, the home had fallen into disrepair.  Since undergoing extensive restoration, the home now combines the grace of yesteryear with the comforts of today.  Our legendary hospitality and historical elegance emulate the beauty and romance of the Old South.   Images of horse-drawn carriages waiting at the porte cochere to carry away the southern belles descending the stairway of the central foyer are easily imagined.

Linger over our memorable, three-course breakfast with an array of home baked breads, muffins and pastries, fresh fruits of season, and our own special breakfast entrees, served at a beautifully set table, complete with crystal and silver.  Relax in our social gathering places - cozy library, ladies' parlor, gentlemen's parlor, conservatory, sitting room, plus outside balconies. The home features six original fireplaces, beautiful, elaborate mouldings and woodwork, and a grand staircase with balcony overlooking foyer.  Although the atmosphere is one of mannered Southern charm, the daily routine is low-key.

We are the perfect stopover for travelers from the Upper Mid-west and Canada on their way to all points south.  We’re only six hours from Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach, and Florida is just a day’s drive.  We offer complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi for our business travelers with laptop computers.

* En-suite bathrooms
* Fluffy robes and slippers
* TV, DVD player, plugs in for iPods/MP3 players each room
* Two bedrooms with fireplaces
* Two bedrooms with original clawfoot bathtubs
* Steam shower in Rosspoint
* Luxury body sprays in showers
* Complimentary beverages and snacks
