Inn Virginia’s Renovated B&Bs

Our member bed & breakfasts like to stay at the very top of their game, reflecting the standards of quality that we hold as an association. One way of doing so is with room renovations, fresh coats of paint, and updated décor. It’s amazing how fresh and new you can feel after a renovation!

Three of our member inns, Clay Corner Inn, Waypoint House B&B, and Holladay House, have made recent renovations that have taken them from excellent to extraordinary:

Clay Corner Inn in Blacksburg, VA is a “boutique hotel” with “charm, space, and tranquility,” and it was already rated the #1 B&B in Blacksburg. Needless to say, it has a lot to live up to, and owners Rick and Nicky Aymes-Arevalo found that the way to keep their inn fresh was to revamp the dining room, the Cascade Room, the Zen Garden, and one of the rooms of the Dogwood House.

Waypoint House B&B in Berryville, VA strives to break the mold of dated, “knick knack stuffed” rooms. Owners Jonathan and Rachael Worsley decided that their modern retreat needed a bit of a makeover, including new paint, new rugs, and new furnishings in their Shore Room, Traveler’s Retreat, and Traveler’s Retreat bathroom.

Holladay House in Orange, VA recently refreshed their room Helen’s Haven, formerly known as the “Green Room.” With the new color scheme, the historically appropriate Japanese accents, and the 20th century furnishings, innkeepers Sam and Sharon Elswick have provided the perfect blend of history and modernity.
