Maury Place at Monument

This magnificent Richmond, Virginia bed and breakfast located in the Museum District and the Monument Avenue Historic District was built in 1916, five years before Monument Avenue was paved west of the Boulevard and thirteen years before the Maury Monument it overlooks was unveiled.
Lovingly preserved in its original state by previous owners, we are only the fourth family to enjoy this remarkable architectural monument, and we are delighted to share it with you as our guest. Renovations have now been completed for four gracious suites, each with its own private bath en suite. The baths feature many original fixtures, but also have updated 21st century features such as heated tile floors and new showers.
The Pathfinder Suite, Maury Place's largest and most romantic suite, has a multi-nozzle rain shower! Three suites have working gas fireplaces. All suites have flat-screen televisions and wireless Internet access.
The HVAC system, plumbing, and electrical wiring have been updated throughout, and the backyard has been reconfigured to accommodate off-street parking for our guests. The dacor of Maury Place is both sophisticated and refreshingly modern, while still taking cues from the dramatic neo-classical architecture.  Guests may also now enjoy our new outdoor heated swimming pool and hot tub.

    We were fortunate enough to visit during the Christmas Season. The house was decorated beautifully. Our hostess Donna, prepared a fabulous breakfast each morning. She was a delight ! By all measures a wonderful stay at a wonderful B&B.

    This place is the best. The level of personal attention is unbelievable. The attention to minute detail designed to make your stay really special and the luxury in everything are staggering. And there's a really beautiful pool and hot tub. The location is historic and charming and there's a lot to see. We live near Richmond and had no idea we could have so much fun there.

    This is a beautiful old home in outstanding condition, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and run by an extremely friendly and efficient staff. The room was very nice, and the breakfast was delicious. Great location. We've stayed in many B&B's, and this is our favorite so far.

    The Maury Place is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast. It is easy to find and it has off street parking. We stayed in the Belmont Suite, which is a quaint area of the house comprised of both the historic and modern. My personal favorite about the suite was the heated floor in the bathroom. The primary reason the stay was so marvelous was because of the hospitality of the innkeepers. The Assistant Innkeeper was extremely helpful and had an amazing personality that added so much to the charm. She was very knowledgeable about Richmond and helped us navigate the city. The Maury Place was an enchanting place to stay in Richmond. We will definitely be back.
