Set in the gentle hills of the Shenandoah Valley, an hour from Washington, DC yet a world away. Smithfield commands a majestic view of fields and orchards, mountains and forests. From the main entrance, an eighth generation Pritchard family innkeeper greets our guests at the entrance to the manor house, a classic 19th century home constructed in brick and stone using traditional Federal period architecture. Inside, an elegant, sweeping staircase adds beauty to the grand hallway, while to either side spacious rooms are flooded with sunlight, reflected from the warm hardwood floors.

Smithfield Farm offers many ways to pass the time. If you seek quiet leisure, our grounds include a gazebo and water garden creating a peaceful backdrop while you drift off in our hammock. If you wish to explore further, go for a hike through the old orchard.  Stop by our farm store and take home some of our all-natural beef, pork, and eggs as a tasty reminder of your stay at Smithfield Farm.
